EDTL 3240 - Science Methods for the Early Childhood Teacher

Description: Fall. Concepts of teaching science in grades pre-k-grade 3 are covered in this course. Developmentally appropriate instruction in science, including early childhood science curriculum, materials, adapting curriculum for diverse populations, inquiry based pedagogy, science safety, and Ohio’s Academic Content Standards for Science, and multiple methods evaluation are examined. Must be taken as part of ECE Field Block II. Transportation required. Prerequisite: Letter grade of C or better in all Field Block I courses (HDFS 3200, HDFS 4200, EDIS 4290, EDTL 3100, and EDTL 3110). Extra fee.
