NURS 3427 - Population and Community Health

Description: This course will focus on healthcare needs of the community, population, and public health. Students will address disease prevention and health promotion in populations across the lifespan. Concepts of social justice, advocacy, determinants of health, and resource management will be examined. Application of clinical judgment in the community setting will be explored. Issues such as substance abuse, mental healthcare, natural disasters, and violence on diverse communities will be discussed. Prerequisite: NURS 2007 , NURS 3007 , NURS 3017 , NURS 3107 , NURS 3117 , NURS 3127 , NURS 3207 , NURS 3038 , NURS 3307 . Corequisites: NURS 3407 , NURS 3417 , NURS 3437 , NURS 3507 , NURS 3607 , NURS 3617 , NURS 3707 , AHS 3568 . Approved for distance education.
