Water resources is a multidisciplinary field, and our minor (23-24 credits) covers a breadth of disciplines consisting of courses offered by SEES and the departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Political Science. The minor program encourages students to: 1) learn about the water cycle and the associated physical, biological, and geochemical processes; 2) understand the world’s fresh water supply and related issues; and 3) relate the knowledge learned to water management, policy, and practices.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students will demonstrate knowledge about the occurrence, movement and chemical quality of water resources and water-related natural phenomena
- Students will analyze simple quantitative and qualitative data; and
- Students will be able to evaluate and reflect critical water issues and water policies.
