Applied Geospatial Science is a flexible minor that can meet the learning needs of a broad range of student backgrounds for acquiring fundamental geospatial skills. The minor focuses on using geospatial technology such as Geographical Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), and other field-based information produced by the latest technology among sensors and instruments to address real-world problems applicable to a variety of disciplines.
- Understand the fundamentals of GIS, including geospatial data models, coordinate systems, map projections, geospatial software, and mapping.
- Develop skills to collect, store, organize, manage and manipulate geospatial data from multiple sources.
- Analyze geospatial data and models applied to real-world problems.

Applied Geospatial Science Minor (21 Hours)
Required Courses
Students who are Applied Geospatial Science minors are required to complete this set of courses. (15 Hours). Please note: GEOG 4220 , GEOG 4250 , or GEOG 4260 cannot be double counted in both ‘Required Courses” and ‘Electives’. Electives
