Visual Communication Technology, Minor

The minor consists of courses from the Visual Communication Technology program that incorporate the applied aspect of creating visual media for print, video, photography and interactive media.  How the visual media areas are used in relationship with each other will also be examined thereby providing a comprehensive experience for non-majors.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will demonstrate knowledge of production design skills by producing various visual media.
  2. Students will demonstrate operational level skill ability in each of the visual media areas of VCT by producing media for print, interactive media, video and photography.
  3. Students will apply critical thinking skills to conceptualize and develop a visual technology solution for all media areas of VCT

Required Courses (21 Hrs)


The minor degree in Visual Communication Technology is offered to any undergraduate student not enrolled in the Visual Communication Technology major. The minor requires 21 credit hours.

Notes:


All students must complete at least 15 hours towards the minor that are not in the students major or another minor. Course substitutions for the minor must be approved by the Department.
