Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s: English, specialization in Literary and Textual Studies

Criteria and Application Requirements

Students interested in pursuing the Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s of Arts (MA) in English, specializing in Literary and Textual Studies must:

1. Be pursuing Bachelor of Arts in English
2. By the start of Accelerated status, have either:
   • 75 credit hours earned and an overall BGSU GPA of at least 3.2, or
   • 90 credit hours earned and an overall BGSU GPA of at least 3.0;
3. Complete Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Application;
4. Submit transcripts from all universities attended;
5. Submit at least two letters of recommendation from full-time BGSU Literature program faculty members;
6. Submit a 2-3-page (double-spaced) statement of purpose;
7. Submit a 10-15-page (double-spaced) writing sample. (Two or more shorter samples are acceptable for a total of 10-15 pages in the absence of a  single longer sample.)

Once the student completes their undergraduate degree, they should complete the remaining requirements for the Master of Arts in English with specialization in Literary and Textual Studies program.
