Criteria and Application Requirements

Students interested in pursuing the Accelerated Bachelor’s to MS in Computer Science must:

Be pursuing one of the following degrees/majors:
- BA in Computer Science
- BS in Computer Science
By the start of the student’s Accelerated status, they must have either:
- 75 credit hours earned and an overall BGSU GPA of at least 3.2, or
- 90 credit hours earned and an overall BGSU GPA of at least 3.0;
Complete Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Application;
Submit transcripts from all universities attended;
Submit at least one letter of recommendation from a full-time BGSU faculty member, preferably from graduate faculty within the student’s major or targeted graduate program.

Once the student completes their undergraduate degree, they should complete the remaining requirements for the Master of Science in Computer Science program.

Select from the following list (no more than 9 credits total)

Any 5000 level CS course whose 4000 level version counts towards requirements for the BA/BS.
Students are strongly encouraged to enroll in CS 5120 - Design and Analysis of Algorithms and/or CS 5050 - Research Methods in Computer Science
