The Product Design and Innovation (PDI) minor, offered by the School of Art, in collaboration with the College of Business and College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering, recognizes that ideas and propositions generated through art-thinking, like design, moves ideas into applied and tangible prototypes that exist, operate, function, and actively engage our real world. Completion of the minor requires 23 credit hours of course work: 9 hours entry and 12 hours of core level. The capstone course, ARTS 3931 3D Digital Fabrication and Rapid Prototyping completes the minor, and emphasizes collaborative and/or individual work, synthesizing skills and knowledge developed in the entry and core level classes.
