Fashion Merchandising and Product Development, with Marketing Minor, BSFMPD

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the baccalaureate degree, students in fashion merchandising and product development are expected to:

  • Plan textile and apparel product lines to meet target market needs using the product development process.
  • Evaluate apparel industry processes in which products are developed, produced, marketed, sold, and consumed in the global economy.
  • Formulate solutions to apparel and textile global problems as evidence of critical and creative thinking skills.
  • Evaluate issues of personal and social responsibility, professional behavior, and ethics related to the impact of individual, organizational, and corporate decision making.

Students select one of two options within the degree program:

Must complete at least 1 course in each of the following:

   English Composition and Oral Communication

University Requirements

Designated courses in Humanities and the Arts and the Social and Behavioral Sciences domains may be used to fulfill both the BGP requirement and one of the following university requirements:

WRIT 1120 - Seminar in Research Writing
