The goals of the K-12 Online Teaching & Learning certificate program is to prepare K-12 classroom teachers to be effective online teachers and to provide them with research skills necessary to investigate student learning within online K-12 educational contexts.
Information regarding Licensure, Endorsement, or Accreditation: This certificate does not lead to an Ohio ODE Endorsement certification.
Admission Requirements
- The primary goal of the K-12 Online Teaching and Learning Certificate is to prepare K-12 classroom teachers, curriculum leaders, and instructional designers to be effective online teachers promoting student learning in their classrooms and schools.
- Graduates of this program are prepared for opportunities to serve as school and/or district leaders in online learning and teaching and migrating from face-to-face to online.
- All 4 courses (13 credit hours) required for the certificate are offered 100% online and taught by faculty who have extensive experience in online learning and teaching. Students may be able to utilize previous online teaching and learning experiences to earn graduate credit through the competency-based option for EDFI 6960: Supervised Teaching in Online Learning.
- Graduates of this program are prepared for opportunities to serve as school and/or district leaders in online learning and teaching and migrating from face-to-face to online. They are also prepared to continue in advanced degrees in graduate education. Graduate credit may be used toward professional development or licensure renewal. This certificate does not lead to an Ohio ODE Endorsement certification.
