Offered as a stand-alone program, the Graduate Computer Science Educator Certificate may be earned apart from completing the Classroom Technology Master’s degree. Students with this certificate will be prepared to teach computer science courses in K-12 settings. Upon successful completion of the certificate coursework, Ohio Assessment for the Computer Science Endorsement, and state required field hours, program candidates who hold a valid standard Ohio teaching license will be eligible to apply for the Computer Science Endorsement to be added to their license.

Admission Requirements
The Computer Science Information Certificate is an ODE new standard licensure area for K12 Computer Science Information and may be added to an existing valid Ohio teacher license. Computer Science 054
After completion of this coursework, candidates will need to take the OAE 054 subtest exam. In order to add the license for Ohio Licensure, application is made for new license with Ohio Department of Education. Please contact Dr. John Sorg for teaching licensure questions at jsorg@bgsu.edu.
Documents required:
- Submit scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), the appropriate PRAXIS II, or Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) test. Test score waived for Masters.
