Logistics Systems Engineering, M.S.

The Logistics Systems Engineering program is a multi-disciplinary engineering program that applies systems approach to solve contemporary problems in the field. This program is designed to meet growing industry demand for tech-savvy engineers who can design, integrate, and improve highly complex systems including logistics, production, healthcare, and retail.

Learning Outcomes

  • Perform planning and strategic decision-making effectively in the field of logistics and systems engineering.
  • Perform modeling and analysis of systems and integrate the results.
  • Design systems with a clear understanding of complex dynamics in the field of logistics and systems engineering.
  • Adapt effective leadership in project management through clear communication and collaborative teamwork.
  • Integrate core competencies to develop solutions to complex systems problems in the field of logistics and systems engineering

Admission Requirements

A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (or its equivalent) is required in engineering, technology, applied sciences, or a related field. A minimum of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale undergraduate GPA is required. 

Additional Documents required:

  • Submit scores from Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) - Test scores will be waived for a US Master’s degree or at least five years of relevant and progressive work experience. If a waiver is desired for relevant/progressive work experience, please consider uploading an optional document that includes your job descriptions. After submission, upload this as an Additional Document. 
  • Two Letters of Recommendation - from individuals with knowledge of applicant’s qualifications and ability to succeed with graduate studies.

Additional Requirements


  • Minimum of 3 credits of 6990 required for Plan I master’s students.  Maximum of 6 credits may be applied toward degree requirements. 
  • Minimum 3.0 graduate cumulative grade point average
  • Minimum of 18 credits must be at the 6000-level or higher
  • Minimum of  24 credits must be earned at BGSU
  • All requirements must be completed within six years from the end of the earliest course used to fulfill degree requirements.
