The minor in child development is designed to offer students a broad understanding of children and families within contemporary society. The minor provides a systems-based approach to the study of child development. Students will be prepared for careers relating to children and families in an array of settings.

HDFS 2280 - Preadolescent and Adolescent in Family and Community *

Choose Three Courses From the Following:

HDFS 3220 - Child Development Practicum **
HDFS 4200 - Nurturing Positive Behavior
HDFS 4220 - Cognitive Development of the Young Child ***
HDFS 4230 - Organization of Programs for Young Children ***
