Return to: Programs
This program combines academic course work with radiologic technologist education to prepare Registered/Licensed Radiologic Technologists for leadership roles in today’s imaging departments and facilities. The program recognizes satisfactory completion of examination by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and issuance of a Radiologic license by the Ohio Department of Health, Radiologic Technology Section, to practice in Ohio. Through BGSU’s credit-by-exam process, students present official results of satisfactory completion of the written ARRT examination and their Ohio license to practice in order to receive college credit that can be applied to this program. Science and anatomy and physiology course work complement practical skills and will result in enhanced understanding of body systems. Students are able to select two electives, minimum of five credit hours, from a list of courses related to health care, cultural diversity, social work, medical ethics, or supervision.
The program is designed to allow continuation as a 2+2 program into BGSU’s Bachelor’s degree programs in Advanced Technological Education (ATE) or Allied Health Science (Allied Health Specialization). The ATE program is ideal preparation for those desiring to work in radiologic technology education programs, while the Allied Health degree provides a greater understanding of the chemical and biological sciences as well as general health and wellness courses.
