READ 2000 - Foundations of Reading

Description: This course is designed to prepare future educators to meet Ohio’s 12-Hour Reading and Literacy Core Standards. The Foundations of Reading course provides a scientifically based foundation in the cognitive, linguistic, and motivational influences on literacy and language development. The course presents the key scientifically based reading research foundations needed to understand how reading develops, as well as effective methods and strategies used to teach literacy skills to young children through young adults. Approved for distance education.
