CRJU 6010 - Criminal Justice Processes and Institutions Credits: 3
The purpose of this course is to provide students with a graduate-level overview of the various processes and institutions that comprise American criminal justice systems. As such, it will provide a foundation for remaining coursework and studies by examining the different components of the criminal justice system, their responsibilities, and major issues facing them. More generally, the course will focus on the discretion found throughout the criminal justice process, factors associated with criminal justice decision-making, and the extent to which that discretion has changed in recent years. Prerequisite: MSCJ or MSCRJU major, or consent of the instructor.
