COMM 4030 - The Dark Side of Interpersonal Communication

Description: This course explores research and theory that illuminates the dark side of interpersonal communication and provides an orientation for understanding the dark side as inseparable from the brighter side in understanding human communication. The dark side metaphor will allow consideration for the hidden and forbidden as well as the contradictory and ironic elements of human relating. We will also consider the darker side of communication practices typically considered as positive. The goal of this course is to apply theory and research to interpersonal relationships.
