BIOL 5290 - Evolutionary Ecology Credits: 3
Fall. This course focuses on major factors driving the evolution of ecologically important characteristics of organisms. Special emphasis is placed on examples related to evolutionary conservation ecology, such as evolution of invasive species, evolution of resistance to antibiotics and pesticides, and evolutionary responses to global climatic changes. Students will also gain practical knowledge on experimental design and statistical analysis of data in the fields of Ecology and Evolution. Three one-hour lectures. Prerequisite: BIOL 2040 or equivalent.
