Principles of constructing good statistical graphics with implementation in a modern graphics language. Graphing continuous and categorical variables and relationships between then. Discussion of graphics concepts such as clear vision, clear understanding, use of scales, choices of smoothing curves, plots of time series, plots of multivariate data, and the use of color. Prerequisite: MATH 6410 or consent of instructor. Approved for distance education.
