DATA 7440 - Advanced Topics in Data Mining Credits: 3
Data mining is one of the important topics in modern statistics. In this course, a variety of text mining techniques are introduced. Topics include natural language processing, sentiment analysis, social network analysis, and data stream mining. Students are expected to read current literature on these topics and implement one or more of these techniques on a new or ongoing research project. Python, R, and/or other related software will be used. Prerequisite: STAT 6440 and MATH 7560, CS 7200, or CS 7300, or consent of instructor. Credit cannot be earned for both STAT 7440 and DATA 7440.
