ENVS 3130 - Energy Science Credits: 3
Description: Basic scientific concepts of thermodynamics and electricity, and their applications to energy generation, storage, transmission/distribution, and use. Emphasis is on energy science both on a large scale, appropriate to local, regional, and national energy issues, and on a personal scale appropriate to improving one’s energy efficiency and carbon footprint. Lectures, quantitative exercises, and discussions on the economic and social implications of energy at various scales. Prerequisite: MATH 1220 or higher, or consent of instructor.
