SPAN 4240 - Exploring Latino/a and Latin American Culture through Service-Learning

Description: Fall. Explore Latino/a and Latin American culture and recent history. Students will engage in service to the Latino/a community in NW Ohio. Through the service-learning experience, students will have the opportunity to complement the knowledge acquired through reading the course materials with first hand oral accounts provided by community members. Service-learning promotes active learning by making a meaningful contribution to the community. Prerequisite: SPAN 3660 and 3760, or consent of instructor. Repeatable up to 9 hours if topics differ on approval of undergraduate coordinator.
