NURS 3808 - Nursing Leadership and Quality Improvement Credits: 3
Description: The student will examine the role of the nurse leader within organizational healthcare systems in promoting quality and safety to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Concepts integral to the nurse leader such as accountability, social justice, integrity, human dignity, autonomy, altruism, conflict resolution, and interprofessionalism will be evaluated. Emphasis is placed on interprofessional communication and collaboration in healthcare systems. The student will have a practice experience through interviewing nursing leaders in various healthcare settings. Prerequisite: Admission to RN to BSN. Approved for distance education.
