Description: Fall, Spring. Survey of global media systems and policies that create and regulate media content providers and distribution organizations. Includes comparative analysis of cultural and technological bases; economic and political systems affecting media systems and policy; U.S. and global policies, regulations, and agreements; and audience research and programming practices from both U.S. and global perspectives. Prerequisite: MDIA 1030 or JOUR 1000 ; MDIA 2600 . Junior standing required.
