HIST 4044 - Africa and World Politics Credits: 3
Description: This course examines how both domestic and international issues impinge on Africa. Selected themes and case studies to be considered include the slave trade, European exploration and political aggression, World Wars and implications, Cold War and its aftermath, and South Africa and apartheid; case studies such as the crises in Rwanda, Liberia, Somalia, Sierra Leone and their international implications will be examined. This course develops advanced research and writing skills by the creation of a project based on the critical analysis of primary and secondary sources. Credit allowed only for one of HIST 4044, ETHN 4044 .
