GEOG 2530 - Global Plagues and Pestilence Credits: 3
Description: Spring, Summer. Global infectious disease pandemics will be studied from a geographical (and historical) perspective. The goal is to answer the following questions: What is the connection between globalization and the spread of infectious disease? How do diseases spread between places? What geographical tools are used to study and understand the spread of disease? Infectious disease pandemics will also be studied from a current perspective. Re-emerging diseases, and the development and spread of new diseases will be explored. Approved for distance education.
