Description: Fall. This course examines the history of residential segregation in the United States. Focusing on the period from the late-19th century to the present, we will examine phenomena such as urbanization, (im)migration, white-flight, industrialization and deindustrialization, wealth and poverty as it relates to the establishment of racial hierarchy in American society.
