EDTL 2020 - Teaching Adolescents Credits: 3
Description: Fall, Spring. This course offers focused exploration of teaching adolescents in the middle and high school grades. Topics include middle school history, philosophy, and goals; adolescent development; developmentally responsive curriculum; instruction and assessment strategies; impact of diversity on teaching and learning; approaches to organizing classrooms and managing students. Prerequisite: Completion of EDTL 2010 with a “C” or better; sophomore status. Must be taken concurrently with EDFI 3020 . Includes 2 hours lecture and one three-hour lab. Requires FBI and BCI background checks valid throughout semester of enrollment.
