BIOL 4480 - Molecular Evolution Credits: 3
Description: An integrated approach to evolution that includes sections on evolutionary processes, biological molecules, molecular biology, mutation, selection, bioinformatics, genomics, endosymbiosis, and related topics. Lectures, exercises, and discussions of classical and recent scientific papers will be included. The course content covers evolution on Earth from the formation of the Earth through the present. 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 3500 or BIOL 3510 (not to be taken concurrently with BIOL 4480), or consent of instructor. Credit cannot be earned for both BIOL 4480 and BIOL 5480.
