Description: Spring. Overview of approaches to social research in media studies; survey methods, including sampling, measurement, interviewing, questionnaire design and presentation of results; content analysis; ratings, and interpretation of elementary descriptive statistics. Prerequisite: Junior standing required. Equivalent to COMM 3000 Communication Research Methods; however, credit will only be granted for either MDIA 3600 or COMM 3000, not both. Approved for distance education.
