Description: This is an introductory course on Africa from the earliest times through the colonial and modern eras. Themes include origins, myths and stereotypes, artistic expressions and cultural values, socio-political and economic development, colonial experience and contemporary conditions. Credit allowed only for one of HIST 3173, ETHN 3173 . Approved for distance education.
